After my parents left, I took a few days to relax around the flat and be lazy because we were on the go almost the whole time they were here.
We visited Brixton shortly before Christmas. It boasts a lively outdoor street market on the pedestrianised Electric Avenue, Pope’s Road and Brixton Station Road. It also has Brixton Village Market, Market Row and the Reliance Arcade, which are a series of covered markets.
With my parents visiting, we took advantage of a lovely crisp day exploring Covent Garden and the West End. The Covent Garden Market Piazza is always bustling with people taking in the sun on the outdoor seating area or watching the street performers.
Mike and I have previously been to the Columbia Road Flower Market and we were eager to share it with my parents. It’s a bit of a trek from southwest London, but you can make a day out of it by also checking out Spitalfields Market and Brick Lane at the same time.
