We visited Brixton shortly before Christmas. It boasts a lively outdoor street market on the pedestrianised Electric Avenue, Pope’s Road and Brixton Station Road. It also has Brixton Village Market, Market Row and the Reliance Arcade, which are a series of covered markets.

The covered markets have a hip yet intimate vibe, with lots of unique shops and restaurants featuring food from around the world.   Throughout the month they feature different events. Every Saturday has a different theme, from Makers’ Markets to Flea Markets. The Friday Market features food stalls as well as eclectic crafts and retro and vintage clothes. Every Sunday is a Farmers Market. We browsed the shops and picked up a few things to make a nice meal at home.
